Eric Malmi is a researcher at Lovable focusing on the post-training of large language models. He also holds a part-time position as an Adjunct Professor at Aalto University—where his teaching and research explore LLMs and their interdisciplinary applications—and is a faculty member at the ELLIS Institute Finland.

Previously, Eric worked at Google DeepMind, leading one of the Gemini post-training teams and co-leading the user signals vertical. Having joined Google in Zürich, Switzerland, he later became the first Google DeepMind employee based in Finland.

Eric received his PhD from Aalto University in 2018. His research has taken him from linking historical church records and generating rap lyrics, to developing language models—both small and large.
